''Can I go heavier?''

If there's one question we actually want to hear here, it's this one.

Not because we're just trying to stack more weight, but because it usually means you've reached a point where something that used to feel heavy now feels a bit more comfortable.

And that’s exactly what training is about.

Training heavy isn’t the problem.

If anything, it’s necessary.

If you always stay in your comfort zone, not much is going to change. Your body needs a reason to adapt, and most of the time that reason is simple: more load.

So yes, we want you to go heavier.

We want you to challenge yourself.

We want you to feel that it takes effort.

There’s just one nuance.

Going heavier only matters if it still looks like something.

You probably know the difference yourself.

A set that’s heavy but controlled.

Where you have to work, but everything still makes sense.

And a set that’s heavy because you barely get through it.

Where you start pulling, shifting, compensating.

Both are heavy.

But they’re not the same.

What we try to do in class is get you right on that edge.

Not too light.

But also not “let go of everything and hope for the best”.

That point where you have to focus, you have to stay tight, but you’re still in control

That’s where it happens.

And sometimes we’ll still say: ''Stay here for now.''

Not to hold you back, but because we can see that you don't fully 'own' this weight yet.

Once you do, we’ll push you forward.

The goal isn’t to lift something heavy once.

The goal is to be able to train heavy consistently, without your technique falling apart.

So keep asking: “Can I go heavier?”

There’s a good chance the answer is yes.

And if it’s no, there’s almost always a reason you’ll understand later.
